Great Enlightenment Leads to Buddhahood
Xuefeng
Many seek Buddhahood, but few attain it. This is because people hold different understandings of what a Buddha truly is.
I often observe those who worship and pray to Buddha and wonder—what exactly are they worshipping? What are they truly seeking?
If we are unclear about what a Buddha is and what qualities a Buddha possesses, how can we ever become one? It’s like trying to build a house without a blueprint, without experience, and without even a vision—what kind of house could we possibly build?
Many chant scriptures with their mouths but not with their hearts. Some read scriptures without seeking true understanding. Can such people attain Buddhahood?
Can simply sitting in a certain posture make one a Buddha?
Can one truly become a Buddha by retreating into seclusion for cultivation?
Can one become a Buddha by burning incense and kowtowing all day long?
If you want to cultivate Buddhahood, do so amid the sufferings and joys of the human world.
If you want to walk the path to Buddhahood, start by working on your understanding.
Only by thoroughly understanding the principles of the universe, time, space, life, and LIFE, only by attaining great enlightenment, can one become a Buddha.
May all attain Buddhahood.
