On April 26th, Yang Le Qianzi Mai Di attended the 2025 Chiang Mai TEDx workshop and watched a presentation on human sustainability. During the event, he also engaged in discussions and shared insights on related topics with other participants.
The event was attended by over forty people, including students, nonprofit organization staff, and individuals passionate about environmental protection and human sustainability. In the morning, participants took part in the "2030 SDGs Game," an immersive simulation game originating from Japan. The purpose of the game is to help people understand the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and explore how to collaborate to achieve balanced and harmonious economic, social, and environmental development. Through this hands-on experience, participants gained a deeper awareness of the crises and urgency facing human sustainability, which sparked a greater sense of global perspective and action.
In the afternoon, attendees watched TED talks on topics such as AI, refugees, climate change, and social media. Afterward, participants were randomly grouped to discuss and share their personal experiences and thoughts on topics of interest. During these discussions, Yang Le introduced the Second Home model and the Thailand-based community, sharing how we aim to address human crises and achieve sustainable development. Some participants expressed a strong interest in our ideas and lifestyle, with some wishing to visit the Thailand community, others eager to read the theoretical foundations of Lifechanyuan, and some offering to help us develop economic projects by contributing their ideas and wisdom.
The participants were full of positive energy and enthusiasm, genuinely concerned about human sustainability. While they may not yet have realized how to achieve it fundamentally, they are striving toward this goal in their own ways. The conversations were inspiring, leaving everyone hopeful for the future.
After the event, Yang Le asked the TED host if there was an opportunity to present and introduce our community on the TED stage. The host welcomed the idea and exchanged contact information with Yang Le. Seven years ago, Yang Le had expressed his hope on the Lifechanyuan forum to one day speak at TED and introduce Lifechanyuan, and now, his dream may soon become a reality!
