Setting Out for the Next "Battlefield"

Our new car “Wild Woman” pouting: Uncle, bringing me to the headquater, you're not planning to keep me here as a decoration, right? The vast landscapes are the lands I adore; take me to gallop freely in the wilderness! Western Xia Princess(Tongxin)chimed in: The scenery around Lake Anasim is beautiful; it's a good choice to explore. Unable to resist the coquetry of the “wild woman” and the seduction of the sexy Western Xia Princess, on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 7:15 in the morning, with the “wild woman” in tow, E Huang, and I set out. We traveled along Highway 97 towards Williams Lake, then turned onto Highway 20 towards the famous tourist destination Bella Coola. In Bella Coola, you can enjoy the crystal-clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. The journey through the picturesque and vast landscapes took over four hours, covering a distance of 380 kilometers, and finally, we reached our destination – Lake Anasim.
In winter, Lake Anasim is covered in pristine white snow instead of rippling blue waves. Checking online, the summer view of Lake Anasim is breathtaking. Gazing into the distance across Lake Anasim, one can admire the snow-capped peaks on the coastal mountain range, majestic and awe-inspiring, evoking a sense of wonder.

I had a delightful conversation with Mr. Bill, the owner of Escott Bay Resort. He is a Scottish man who came here 42 years ago to build this resort. At the age of 81, and with his wife passing away three years ago, he decided to sell this resort and move to Williams Lake or Kamloops to live with his children. Consequently, I decided to purchase this resort as a flagship location for the second home of Lifechanyuan.
Since facing setbacks in the purchase of a farm in Prince George, my mindset has shifted towards exploring the direction of buying a hotel. Following my heart's desire, I have finally found an exceptional location. The nature of this place differs from the headquater's Bed and Breakfast (B&B), as our B&B primarily caters to transient guests, while Escott Bay Resort is designed to accommodate vacationing visitors.
The beauty of this resort can be appreciated through pictures and videos, and I won't go into further details.
Why did I decide to buy it? Here are the reasons:
1.Lakefront property with stunning scenery.
2.Although the area is not large, less than 7 acres, there are plenty of rooms to accommodate ten or more brothers and sisters.
3.Ready for immediate operation with no worries about various expenses. Mr. Bill mentioned that the average annual turnover is over 100,000 Canadian dollars.
What does this resort offer?
1.Main building with 4 bedrooms on the upper floor and 3 bedrooms in the basement. The spacious balcony of the main building offers a panoramic view of the lake and distant snow peaks.
2.Seven independent guest rooms, each with two beds, bathroom, toilet, kitchen, equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and various kitchen utensils. One of the guest rooms is two stories, with a kitchen and activity area downstairs and 8 beds upstairs, including 2 double beds, accommodating up to 10 people.
3.A large barbecue room with a barbecue grill, providing a picturesque view of the lake while enjoying a barbecue.
4.A shop selling fishing gear and supplies.
5.Separate male and female bathrooms and showers for camping guests, with a shared washing machine and dryer.
6.Two camping trailers, which the landlord is willing to leave.
7.Three pickup trucks, with one suitable for snow removal.
8.Six electric small boats, four rowing boats.
9.One mountain bike.
10.One ice-skating boat.
11.Two generators.
12.A 1.2-meter grass mower and three hand-push mowers.
13.Various tools, including two chainsaws.
14.A drilling machine and a sawing machine.
Approximately 6 kilometers away, there is a small town with two gas stations, two grocery stores, a clinic, a police station, a post office, and an airport. According to online information, in 2023, the airport had a total of 2,860 flight arrivals and departures. Most passengers come for vacations at Lake Anasim or travel to Bella Coola.
My expectation is that with proper management, not only can this resort cover its expenses, but it can also generate a profit each year.
What's even more extraordinary is that Mr. Bill has leased 200,000 acres of government-owned virgin land, equivalent to 800 square kilometers, larger than the entire land area of Singapore. He asked if I was interested, and I said yes. I currently have no plans or ideas on how to use this 800 square kilometers of land, but if we continue to use it, we can leave it for the Chanyuan Celestials to develop and manage for generations.
The above discussion is still ongoing, and whether the final purchase will be successful is currently under negotiation. If successful, E Huang and I estimate that we will set off for the next "battlefield" within the next half month. Tongxin will spend a few days resolving the promotion and program construction for attracting guests to the resort. Meanwhile, Huiyi will spend a few days solving the issue of enhancing WiFi functionality.
E Huang and I will manage while waiting for brothers and sisters to join us.
On that day, we stayed at Escott Bay Resort. Returned to the headquater on the 11th.
