# Unable to Afford Raising This Little Black Bird and Flower Squirrel
The first time I visited the Ascott Bay Resort, it was still cold, but I enjoyed watching two little black birds and a flower squirrel darting among the branches outside the window. Later, I learned that Mr. Bill feeds them every day. A few days ago, Mr. Bill went to Williams Lake, so I fed them a few times. I didn't know how much to feed them each time, so I just gave them a handful. Later, I asked Mr. Bill how much they should be fed daily, and he said a cupful. Oh my goodness! That food is sunflower seeds, a whole cupful every day! Can we really afford to raise this little black bird and flower squirrel?
These little animals are very intelligent. This morning, I had just given them half a cup, and then I stood at the door to watch. They came immediately. Here are some photos as proof.\
