Breaking Free from Protective Mechanisms
Xuefeng
If a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly but does not break free from its protective cocoon, it will inevitably perish inside. Similarly, a chick hatched from an egg that fails to break out of its shell will die within it.
All protective mechanisms are necessary measures for the transformation and elevation of LIFE. Once LIFE completes its transformation, it must break free from the mechanisms that once protected it; otherwise, being trapped within these mechanisms will lead to certain demise.
Structures such as family, clans, religion, and nations are all forms of protective mechanisms. If humanity does not step out of these protective mechanisms, it will ultimately head toward decline.
On an individual level, parents serve as a protective mechanism for a child from birth until maturity. Once an individual reaches adulthood, typically around the age of 18, they must step out of their parents’ protection. Otherwise, they will remain an overgrown, immature infant unable to mature fully.
If a person remains within a protective mechanism for their entire life, it is evidence of stagnation, with no progress or transformation.
Breaking free from protective mechanisms undoubtedly involves risks. However, staying within them is akin to declaring one's life over. In this sense, anyone clinging to protective mechanisms is either not yet fully grown or merely a breathing, walking corpse. From this perspective, elderly couples who have grown overly dependent on each other are essentially dead. Patriotic individuals are metaphorically dead, and lifelong adherents of a single religion are also spiritually lifeless.
In truth, once you break free from protective mechanisms, you will find a world far larger and more vibrant than the one that once shielded you. Your range of activity will expand significantly. If humanity were to break free from the protective mechanism of Earth, the entire universe would become a home and a playground. Similarly, for a woman who has not yet entered the bonds of marriage and family, every man in the world is a potential husband. For a man, all unmarried women are potential wives.
Breaking free from protective mechanisms must be a self-initiated process. It cannot be forced externally. Like butterflies and chicks, the individual must rely on their own strength to break out of the cocoon or shell. If external forces intervene, it is highly likely that the life within will die prematurely. Thus, while protective mechanisms are essential, breaking free from them is the only way to showcase the magnificence of LIFE’s true nature.
If a person transcends the human condition and ascends to the realm of a celestial or Buddha, they must break free from all protective mechanisms, especially those constructed by humanity. These include legal, moral, and all societal operational systems.
Currently, the majority of humanity—99% or more—is to varying degrees trapped within protective mechanisms, existing in a state of half-life and half-death. If a significant number of awakened individuals do not emerge to courageously lead humanity out of these outdated mechanisms, the ongoing propagation of human civilization will face catastrophic consequences.
