The Relaxed and Joyful Life at the Thailand Community

Huiyi Celestial

Since the last group of volunteers left, Pinan asked us to prepare some beautiful English poems, heartfelt blessings, classic farewell songs from different countries, and some games and entertainment activities to welcome the next group of volunteers. However, due to the pandemic, the number of volunteers has decreased, and this plan has been postponed.

As a result, our recent days have been leisurely yet fulfilling. We’ve been busy planting vegetables and flowers, building houses, chopping wood, and creating firebreaks during the fire prevention period. We’re also having fun learning Thai and English and preparing for our driver’s license tests. Huiyi and Yangle have successfully obtained their Thai driver’s licenses, and Huixin took the opportunity to follow in their footsteps and experience the process of getting a foreign driver’s license. She’s set to receive her license next week.

Our papayas and bananas are always in season, and soon, mulberries, pineapples, and watermelons will be ready for harvest. Currently, the vegetable garden offers a bounty of produce, including eggplants, long beans, luffa gourds, cabbages, carrots, white radishes, tomatoes, Chinese cabbage, Shanghai greens, lettuce, cilantro, green onions, and garlic chives.

The soups are tempting, the rice is delicious, and our culinary master is even more enticing, constantly coming up with new desserts and snacks that delight everyone. The vegetables are plump, the fruits are fragrant, the flowers are charming, and Yangle and Qianzi can often be found smiling among them.

With a sturdy firewood rack, a large wooden house, and clear plans in mind, we move forward with calm and confidence.

The air is filled with the fragrance of fruits and flowers, and surrounded by the beauty of nature, we are blessed with the company of like-minded friends. We enrich our inner lives through study, perfect our character through work, learn to play through entertainment, and elevate our lives through games. Together, we stroll toward our heavenly homeland.
