Thai Branch Welcomes Argentine Young Man German

Recently, our Thai branch welcomed a friend from Argentina, German, who lived with us for four days. He helped us with various tasks, such as harvesting mangoes, planting papayas, covering the vegetable fields, and pruning the branches of the eggplant trees. He worked proactively, responsibly and efficiently. He also had a cheerful and easy-going personality, warm smiles and clear eyes. We all liked this hardworking, simple and well-educated boy.

During our chats, we learned that he practiced Vipassana meditation to see things as they really are and to seek inner peace. He also enjoyed extreme sports such as diving and rock climbing, which challenged him to explore and know more about himself, and to pursue the feeling of being one with the universe.

In the evening, we watched videos introducing our community and the new life mode. He praised our way of life as a perfect example of reality, not just a utopia. In our free time, we also went to the eighth floor of the temple to enjoy the beautiful clouds and mist in the mountains, and went boating in the lotus pond to pick lotus seeds.

The night before he left, we had a hot pot barbecue party. Everyone sang, danced and played games. We had so much fun together, and we already treated him as one member of our big family.

Although we only spent four days together, German left a very beautiful and deep impression on us. He also wrote on the whiteboard in Chinese to express his gratitude to every member in the Thai branch. We all wished him a pleasant journey and hoped to meet him again.
