On February 9th, the Thailand Branch welcomed two guests from Belgium, a father and son duo named Aldo and Elliott. They discovered us through an article published on the Life Oasis English website by Baichuan and decided to visit our community for a three-day stay. Their journey through Thailand had already taken them to various places, including Bangkok and Phuket, before they arrived at our home.
Aldo, the father, is an engineering management professor with a focus on energy-saving technologies. His son, Elliott, quickly won the hearts of everyone in the community. With a French father and a Canadian mother, Elliott’s first language is French, but he also speaks clear and fluent English. At just ten years old, Elliott is not only handsome and charming but also bright, thoughtful, and articulate. He has a strong sense of independence and isn’t afraid to express his opinions. His intelligence and hands-on skills are impressive, and he’s mature beyond his years, often stepping in to help his father with various tasks. He even helped prepare and share delicious meals, including pasta and popcorn, with us, taking on the role of a little adult. Elliott’s capability and helpfulness left a strong impression on everyone.
Understanding their wish to relax and enjoy their travels, Huiyi and the community arranged a few outings during their stay. On the first day, they visited a local temple. The second day was spent exploring the nearby King’s Park. On the third day, they ventured to Tad Mork Waterfall, a serene and picturesque jungle waterfall about a half-hour drive from the community. The lush, pristine forest, filled with blooming datura flowers, provided a stunning natural backdrop, and everyone felt a joyful and peaceful energy during the visit. They also experienced the village’s famous hot springs, a favorite among our volunteers. The springs are well-maintained by the local Thai community, with several pools offering different water temperatures. It’s a refreshing and free experience, leaving the skin feeling smooth and rejuvenated.
During their stay, Aldo and Elliott also took an interest in helping with the construction of our new house and cutting down excess banana trees, adding to their travel experiences and enjoyment. Huiyi and Huiguang shared insights about the life model of our former community and explained the reasons behind establishing the Thailand Branch, all in fluent English. They also showed them some of Baichuan’s English videos, giving them a visual understanding of our beautiful way of life.
We hope that their time here was filled with warmth, comfort, and meaningful experiences, making their visit worthwhile.
Today, we are hosting a 25-year-old girl from Israel, introduced by Pinan, who is here for a short stay. Stay tuned for the next update!
