High-quality people, highly efficient work — every day was filled with intense labor, yet not a single person complained or grumbled. Everyone wore bright smiles, as if they had eaten honey, even though the conditions remained tough.
The meals were still very simple. For a whole week, there were no eggplants, peppers, cucumbers, Chinese cabbage, celery, radishes, or beans. We mainly had chayote, potatoes, and cabbage. Apart from one meal where everyone had a chicken drumstick during the barbecue, meat was very rare — even pork was scarce — and there was no fried food at all. Each day we had simple meals of steamed buns, noodles, and rice.
As for living conditions, several people still squeezed into one room. Despite this, the amount of work accomplished each day was massive, and most of it was hard, heavy, and dirty labor.
There were over thirty people, but only one small shower room. During the day, everyone was so busy there was no time to shower — we could only line up for showers after dinner. There were no weekends; every day involved more than eight hours of work.
Facing such spiritually beautiful Chanyuan Celestial Beings, my heart was — and still is — deeply moved, over and over again.
Please enjoy the photos of our construction work.
