·Fourth Branch Celebration Event (2): Hotpot Gathering

To be honest, life at the Fourth Branch (especially the meals) was not as good as at the First and Third Branches. The main reason was that the Fourth Branch had not yet started growing its own vegetables, nor did it have eggs — everything had to be purchased from the market. Additionally, Dean Shengong was very frugal, and the buyers, Canghai and Lingzi, usually chose the cheapest options, rarely purchasing the more expensive vegetables. As a result, meals mostly consisted of potatoes and chayote. Fortunately, the chayote was abundant, as it grew in the yard of the Fourth Branch, so it became a daily staple.
There have been three occasions when we improved our meals at the Fourth Branch: once during the Mid-Autumn Festival, once during a barbecue at the miniature Ma'er Gesangqin Grassland, and this time, for the celebration. It was both to mark the occasion and to give our hardworking family members a day of rest.
For this hotpot feast, I personally went shopping and bought fish, shrimp, beef, lamb, tofu, sausage, and other ingredients, along with some wine. Although material living conditions at the Fourth Branch were a bit tougher, everyone's spirit was high, and we found joy in building our home together.
We are working hard to improve the Fourth Branch, especially the housing, so that when X-star arrives next year, we will be ready to provide a safe and welcoming place for our brothers and sisters who are not yet living here.
Special thanks to Ehuang for thoughtfully planning this hearty and unique hotpot feast for everyone.
